SERVICES OFFERED
To Emergency Services
We can provide an invaluable 4 wheel drive ability to assist with operations on adverse terrain or during extreme weather conditions.
Search, evacuation, equipment transportation, remote monitoring, vehicle or equipment recovery; these are all services we can offer during a crisis situation.
With a 24 hour contact and call out capability and with members located across Cambridgeshire we can mobilise personnel and vehicles rapidly.
To Event Organisers
We can provide mobility for support personnel at your event. Motor cycle enduros, cross country equestrian, orienteering, charity walks & bike rides, county shows; these are all events we can provide support for.
Providing fast over ground mobility to marshals, Doctors, Vets and First Aid personnel at these events can be decisive when injury is involved.
4X4 Response is able to provide that mobility.
We also provide off-road transportation to commercial users, which is a valuable source of revenue for the Club. Our members provide their time and vehicles free of charge, in return for a fixed donation to Club funds.
Aims
The 4X4 Response Network has been set up to assist the emergency services and District Councils within Cambridgeshire in time of severe weather and when their resources are stretched.
We provide:
Four wheel drive capability for any situation (off road, flooding, severe weather etc.) for District Councils, Emergency Services and any other group who we may wish to support (RSPCA, NHS, etc.)
A co-coordinated group of competent individuals who have knowledge of search, rescue, navigation and communication skills to assist in the solution of any major problems (training can be given).
Vehicular support for other volunteer organisations.
Off road support for St. Johns Ambulance or other Fist Aid Organization at organized events such as motor or equestrian events.
A chance for the members to have fun and test their vehicles (and their own) capabilities during exercises and events.
To provide a social gathering for like minded people.
To hold regular 'Green Lane Runs' to provide essential local knowledge.
The group is not affiliated to any club or organisation and its only aims are those stated above. The group will not operate in any competitive forum at all as it is felt that this is adequately catered for by other clubs.
The Committee
The club is run by a committee, which meets once a month on the last Sunday of each month at 18:30 hrs. Or as shown on the home page.
The Committee generally consists of:
Chairperson
Treasurer
Secretary
Green Lane Co-ordinator
Training Co-ordinator
Controllers (non elected position appointed by the Committee)
Website Editor
We are always looking for more help, there’s plenty to go around. All members and prospective members are welcome to attend. There is no bar to helping on the committee as long as you are a member; we welcome ‘new blood’ and new ideas.
